This welcoming and comfortable 400 year old traditional Lakeland
Inn, which retains much of its original character and features is
surrounded by mature trees in the very scenic village of Elterwater
and set amongst the picturesque fells of Langdale valley.
Serving hearty home cooked food and
real ales, with local slate floors and open hearth fires providing a
welcoming and warm atmosphere in which to unwind, relax, exchange
stories and discuss experiences with fellow guests.

Hotel information The Langdale estate country club is a world renowned
leisure facility which is located adjacent to the Britannia
Inn,
As a guest you will receive one free pass per person
entitling access to the excellent leisure and spa facilities
at the Langdale estate country club where you can enjoy a
luxury pool, squash courts and a beauty salon offering a
variety of pamper treatments.
Food & beverage
A traditional menu of popular favourite dishes and some for
the more adventurous taste traveller, where possible made
with the best of locally sourced produce to provide the
freshest and best quality food possible served each and
every evening in an informal setting to guests with great
hospitality.
Locally brewed ales are available at the bar and there is
even a Britannia Special Ale.
There is a choice of 2 bars which provide the perfect
relaxing venue for a drink and don’t forget, Sunday night is
quiz night.
Children and extra beds
All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using
existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged GBP £10.00 per night and
person for cots.
All older children or adults are charged 50 % of the room stay per
night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/baby cots in a room is 1.
Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed
by the hotel.
Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs
and have to be paid separately in the hotel.
Cancellation
If cancelled or modified up to 2 days before date of
arrival, a fixed amount of GBP £40.00 will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the
reservation will be charged.
Deposit
A fixed amount of GBP 40 per room will be charged on the day of
booking and is non-refundable.
